PDF Form Filler

PDF forms are used extensively in government, healthcare, finance, and business — tax forms, medical intake forms, insurance claims, permit applications, contracts with fill-in fields, and employment applications all commonly come as interactive PDF forms. These forms contain AcroForm fields: text inputs, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdown menus, and signature fields. Traditionally, filling these forms required Adobe Acrobat or a compatible PDF reader installed locally. The AllTools PDF Form Filler handles interactive PDF forms directly in the browser using pdf-lib.js, letting you fill in all form fields without any software installation. Type in text fields, check checkboxes, select radio buttons, and choose dropdown options, then download the completed form as a new PDF. Because all processing happens in your browser, sensitive form data — social security numbers, medical information, financial details — never passes through any server. This is particularly important for government and healthcare forms that contain personal identification information.

PDF forms come in two fundamentally different types that require different processing approaches. Interactive PDF forms (AcroForms or XFA forms) contain actual form field objects — editable text boxes, clickable checkboxes, selectable radio buttons — that can be filled and the values extracted or modified programmatically. These forms are the best experience for digital completion. Flat PDFs that look like forms but aren't — scanned paper forms, or PDFs exported from design software without form fields — don't have editable fields. They're just images of forms that require either printing and handwriting, or more sophisticated OCR and overlay techniques. The AllTools PDF Form Filler works with interactive AcroForm PDFs. If your PDF doesn't show any clickable fields when you load it, it's likely a flat PDF that needs different handling.
