Designing for Color Accessibility
About 8% of men and 0.5% of women have some form of color vision deficiency. The most common types are protanopia (no red cones, ~1%) and deuteranopia (no green cones, ~1%), which both affect the red-green spectrum. Tritanopia (no blue cones) is rare (<0.01%). Designing for color accessibility means never relying on color alone to convey information — use patterns, labels, and sufficient contrast alongside color. This simulator helps you verify your designs work for all users.
